MAK Studio is a small, design-centric architecture studio located in the Polk Gulch neighborhood of San Francisco. Our goal is a modern aesthetic that includes award-winning residential and commercial design. Our studio culture is collaborative, fast-paced and we pride ourselves on growing our team members to become passionate problem solvers and thoughtful designers. Our small office size allows each employee to experience all facets of a project from design to construction, including the client, contractor and consultant interface.

We are looking for an experienced and outstanding mid-level designer to join our team. Ideal candidates are self-motivated, highly organized, detail-oriented, able to solve problems independently, and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Applicants should have project management experience to develop effective project plan strategies and support project objectives. This position will work directly with the firm manager and project architects to develop documentation for all phases of various projects.

This position may include the following responsibilities:

  • Code analysis.
  • Production of drawings from schematic design to construction administration.
  • Project coordination with clients, consultants, suppliers and contractors.
  • Construction administration tasks such as inquiries, requests for proposals, review of change requests and response.
  • Assistance with a range of project administrative tasks including invoice submission, budget tracking and other general office administration tasks.
  • Presentation renderings to communicate project intent to clients and local jurisdictions

Ideal candidates should have:

  • A bachelor’s or graduate degree in architecture
  • 5-10 years of professional experience, ideally in all phases of construction design, documentation and administration
  • Upscale modern residential experience is preferred
  • Proficiency in AutoCad, desktop CAD standards
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp
  • Excellent oral and written interpersonal skills

This position is full time. The salary will be proportional to experience. This position is available immediately.
